Manufacturing tires for the past 60 years, Delta tires has developed trust as it offers quality tires at affordable prices. Delta tires are available for vehicles such as passenger tires, commercial tires, SUVs, light to medium trucks, trailers, farms, lawn and gardens, and industrial equipment.

One of their most popular tires, the Delta Trailcutter AT4, is a robust light truck an all-terrain tire that's also rated for mud and snow with the industry's Three Peak Mountain Snowflake stamp. It is your go-to tire if you are looking for a tire that has long-lasting wear, proven snow traction, and strong wet weather performance that maintains consistent performance and appearance throughout the life of the tire. But is the Delta Trailcutter AT4 tire the right tire for you? Let’s take a look in this Delta Trailcutter AT4 review.

    Features and Benefits

Known to provide superior traction on all kinds of on- and off-road driving surfaces as they are more durable and better on unpaved roads because of their aggressive tread patterns and reinforced constructions, all-terrain tires should be your first choice if you drive a pickup truck and full-sized SUV on- and off-road.

Let’s take a look at the Delta Trailcutter AT4 tire review to help understand all its features and benefits at a glance:

    • Solid traction: The Trailcutter AT4 features an aggressive tread design with an open shoulder that easily expels mud, snow, and slush to boost traction.
    • Enhanced grip: The Trailcutter AT4 has serrated edges on tread blocks for enhanced grip.
    • Good snow traction: With extra deep sipes at various angles for more biting edges in snow and mud, this tire delivers good traction.
    • Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certified: The Trailcutter AT4 is a Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certified tire with high sipe density that ensures superior snow and ice traction.

    Pros and Cons

Before deciding to buy the Trailcutter AT4 tire, let’s first drill down a few factors that can help you decide whether or not the tire is right for you.

    PROS:

    • Great cornering and braking grip on dry and wet roads
    • Better winter performance than most all-terrain tires
    • Solid traction and grip in the rain

While Delta makes a good claim about Trailcutter AT4 tire’s performance, some shortcomings may divide opinions.

    • Not backed by a mileage warranty
    • Not available for use coupes, sedans, minivans, and some CUVs

SimpleTire’s view on Delta Trailcutter AT4 tires

The Trailcutter AT4 is engineered for adventure, any time, and in any weather. With aggressive off-road ability and rugged terrain driving, this tire is for you if you drive a pickup truck, van, or full-sized SUV. Additionally, an optimized tread design combined with a silica tread compound enables this tire to perform in three areas: wear, winter, and wet performance. Designed for severe snow conditions, the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol and full-depth sipes and grooves maintain consistent performance and appearance throughout the life of the tire. This tire has scored a remarkable 8.1 in SimpleScore encompassing average scores of 7.8 in longlasting. 8.2 in handling and 8.4 in traction.

Overall, this is a solid tire that’s highly regarded and a great option if you’re also considering the Finalist Terreno AT that comes with a longevity score of 9 or BlackHawk Hiscend-H HA11 will be a more economical choice. If you’re looking for a tire with a better warranty of 50,000 then the Advanta ATX-850 might be the tire for you, but it does not perform or handle as well as the Trailcutter AT4.

Vehicles the Delta Trailcutter AT4 is a good replacement tire for

In addition to OE fitment, the Trailcutter AT4 is commonly used as a replacement tire option for vehicles such as the Chevrolet Colorado, Ford F-350-Super-Duty-XLT, Jeep Cherokee, Nissan Frontier, RAM 3500-Lone-Star, Toyota Tacoma and many more.

I put these on my Nissan Titan hoping to have all terrain traction with winter capability. Although these are not winter tires they are an excellent compromise considering the cost of rotating two sets of tires twice annually. I have a snow plow mounted on my truck which does provide additional weight to the front wheels, but my concern was weather I would be able to push snow with these tires. First storm of the year included some ice and sleet with a top layer of wet snow. The tires performed better than I hoped for. Again not winter tires but they are as close as I think I'm going to be able to get while still in the AT line. The tires also work great on wet grass, sand and mud. Very impressed.

So far so good...I've had these tires for about 4 months, but all different types of weather. Rain, dry, snow, sleet, and some stuff in between, overall very pleased with the performance. Would recommend.
