The best thing I can say about these tires is that there's virtually no noticable difference in how the vehicle drives in normal conditions from the regular 3-season Firestones that it normally wears. Quiet, handles and rides well. When the snow falls, though, these made a world of difference.

2 SimpleTire reviews
Our area averages about 110" of snow per season. I haven't dealt with deep snow yet, but these tires on our Subaru Forester have done well with ice and with light snow. They've also done well with rainy roads, but stationary, on a dirt incline with many wet leaves, they (or the vehicle) struggled just a bit, but eventually did fine.
Get technical:
Designed for use on coupes, sedans, CUVs, SUVs, and light trucks, the Discoverer True North is a winter tires that offers drivers exceptional traction in unpredictable winter weather conditions.
Features & Benefits
- Winter tread design
- Black sidewall
- Three Peak Mountain Snowflake symbols means this tire performs in severe snow conditions
Ice, slush, and snow can create a nerve-racking commute for most drivers, but that doesn't have to be the case as winter tires are designed to provide better traction and grip in lower temperatures. Designed for use on CUVs, SUVs, light trucks, and some coupes and sedans, the Discoverer True North from Cooper Tires features a special rubber compound that enhances traction on ice and snow. Featuring an outer tread that removes slush and water from the road, the Discoverer True North's inner tread puts more rubber on the road to boost grip on icy roads. The Discoverer True North features a Three Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol thanks to its abilities in severe snow conditions, which is largely powered by snow groove technology and extra siping that enhances grip on snowy roads.
