Urban delivery trucks, route vans, service trucks, and pickup and delivery trucks put a unique set of stresses on tires. Commercial tires need to be durable for long hours on the street, with good handling and braking performance, long wear, a reasonably comfortable ride, and they need to be able to deliver traction year-round. In addition, these vehicles also carry heavy loads and often have a high center of gravity, all of which needs to be figured into tire design.
Urban delivery vans are one of the fastest-growing vehicle segments on the road, and Atturo is ready to step up and answer the call with the CV400. But what makes the tire a good choice in a commercial-grade light truck and van tire? Let’s take a closer look in this Atturo CV4000 review.
Features and Benefits
Tires for delivery vans and commercial grade light trucks need a strong set of tires that performs year-round. Fortunately, Atturo knows this and built the CV400 with specific features that allow for strong performance.
- 5-rib tread design with two solid center ribs for great straight-line stability and steering response
- Deep circumferential grooves and angled lateral grooves cut through standing water to resist hydroplaning
- Dense sipe pattern across all tread blocks for extra biting edges that enhance traction in snow, slush, and rain
- Beveled edges on the main tread blocks help to keep road noise low
- Broad shoulder blocks with deep sipes for great handling and improved load rating
- Long-wearing, damage-resistant tread compound guards the tire against cuts, chips, and abrasions
- Tread compound fights heat buildup to prevent irregular wear
- Backed by a 40,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty
- Wide footprint for great handling, braking performance, even wear, and a good load rating
Pros and Cons
While no tire is perfect, this one has more strengths than weaknesses:
PROS:
- Durable and tough
- Predictable, safe handling and braking
- Year-round traction
- Backed by a 40,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty
That being said, it does have some drawbacks:
CONS:
- Could be better in heavy snow
- Dry road performance could be better
SimpleTire’s view on Atturo CV400 tires
Think about how many commercial vehicles you see from day to day – vans and trucks from plumbing or HVAC companies, service companies, delivery services, and retailers. They all need tires, and plain old light truck tires or passenger tires might not be up to the job. For this kind of difficult and demanding service, fleet operators need tires that are really, really dependable and durable.
It’s our opinion that the Atturo CV400 is the right tire for commercial light trucks and cargo vans. It comes with a generous tread life warranty, it’s designed for year-round performance without driver fatigue from noise and a poor ride, it delivers safe and predictable handling and it does fine with heavier loads. We don’t think you can go wrong with this affordable commercial-grade tire.
Vehicles the Atturo CV400 is a good replacement tire for
While not used as original equipment on any vehicle, the CV400 is a common replacement tire for vehicles like the Chevrolet Express, Dodge ProMaster, Ford F-150, Freightliner Sprinter, and Toyota Tundra.
