George F. Armstrong founded Armstrong tires in 1912, and the company has been owned by ZAFCO since 2012. Since then it has been manufacturing tires for the needs of an ultimate range of passenger and SUV tires that are offered in varied categories like all-terrain, all-season, performance, and highway terrain.

Highway tires are solid and long-lasting tires that are often used on light trucks and SUVs due to their ability to handle the heavier weight of these vehicles and haul materials. The Armstrong Tru-Trac HT is a premium highway all-season tire designed for light trucks, SUVs, and CUVs.

    Features and Benefits

As a highway tire, the Tru-Trac HT has all it takes to be great on paved roads while also allowing for limited off-road use. The innovative, computer-designed technology within the Tru-Trac HT results in a long-lasting, superior-performing all-season highway tire. Additionally, the enhanced shoulder treatment paired with lateral tread and a rigid center rib yields consistent traction and control in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions.

Let’s take a look at the Armstrong Tru-Trac HT tire review to help understand all its features and benefits at a glance:

    • Reduced hydroplaning: Circumferential grooves on the Armstrong Tru-Trac HT drain water from the tread, reducing the risk of hydroplaning on wet roads.
    • Optimized steering response: With a rigid center rib that puts more rubber on the road, this tire is able to boost stability and straight-line driving performance.
    • Enhanced traction: Designed with an innovative special rubber compound, the Tru-Trac HT provides year-round traction.
    • Reduced noise: Computer-tuned tread pattern lowers road noises to improve ride comfort.
    • Extremely durable: A special rubber compound delivers year-round traction and a longer tread life.

The wheel size ranges from 15-inch to 18-inch which makes it an ideal choice for a wide range of vehicles on roads today. Additionally, it offers a 40,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty on P-Metric sizes only.

    Pros and Cons

Before deciding to buy the Armstrong Tru-Trac HT or not, let’s first drill down on a few factors that can help you decide whether or not the tire is right for you.

    • All-season rubber compound and a special ribbed tread design boost dry, wet, and light winter weather traction
    • Wide circumferential grooves actively resist hydroplaning by forcing the water out of the tread
    • The ribbed tread pattern enhances steering responsiveness and driving stability
    • Shoulder tread blocks increase cornering ability by putting more rubber on the road

While Armstrong makes a good claim about Armstrong Tru-Trac HT’s performance, some shortcomings may divide opinions.

    • Only available for a selected range of vehicles
    • Does not perform well on icy surfaces
    • The ride is firmer than its closest premium competitors
    • Mileage warranty is limited to P-metric sizes only

SimpleTire’s view on Armstrong Tru-Trac HT tires

The Tru-Trac HT is an all-season tire that’s manufactured for light trucks and SUVs. Made with a ribbed tread pattern that’s designed to perform in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions, the tire’s wide circumferential grooves actively resist hydroplaning by forcing the water out of the tread.

So far these tires ride very smooth and seem to grip the road very well dry and wet roads as for snow I can't say as I haven't driven in any snow and hope to never encounter any snow that's why I live in South Florida. That is why I bought the highway tires instead of the M&S version. These highway tires also are very quiet I would definitely recommend this tire so far hopefully they will wear for 65000 miles like they advertise

The install went so smooth, the price was outrageously low, the quality of the tire and the install were truly remarkable. I cannot say enough.

These replaced my BFG KO2's. So far, so good. Compared to the BFG's, these are far quieter and a noticeably smoother ride. I have noted a slight increase in gas mileage, too. For the price, can't be beat!
