Put about 2k miles on mine. They ride a little stiff and a bit noisy but not overwhelming. They lack a bit in wet traction. They slip ans slide a bit from the start but handle well while driving. They have been fantastic in the snow. We got hit with a freak blizzard in early November here in colorado and they have overachieved in every way. Up hill in 3-4 inches of slopes on the freeway at 50 mph on snow pack through the neighborhood in 8 inches of heavy snow. Have been great. Hope the last the winter. Been pleasant surprise so far.

Advanta may be a newer name for a lot of drivers and tire buyers, but they’ve got a line of all-season tires for sedans, minivans, and crossovers that present a great value at an affordable price. Advanta took that experience and leveraged it into a great highway-terrain tire for light trucks and SUVs, one that delivers premium-brand performance at a surprising price. As light trucks and SUVs evolve and become more comfortable and sophisticated, tire manufacturers have had to design their light truck tires around those expectations and the Advanta HTR-800 is no exception.
So what is it about the tire that makes it such a great value and stand out as far as performance? Let’s go in for a closer look with this Advanta HTR-800 review:
Features and Benefits
Here are just some of the great pluses you can look for with the HTR-800 from Advanta:
- The tread contact patch is optimized to put the most rubber on the road for great handling, braking, traction
- Tread pitch is randomized and computer-tuned to help filter out road noise and vibrations
- The all-season tread pattern features large tread blocks plus circumferential, lateral, and angled grooves to cut through standing water and evacuate it behind the tire’s contact patch to resist hydroplaning
- Heavy-duty rubber compound and reinforced construction for good load rating, durability
- Backed by a 50,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty
- High ply rating for strength, durability, and a higher load-carrying capacity
- Solid center rib is designed for great straight-line stability and steering response
- Polyester casing reinforced by twin steel belt package, spiral wound nylon cap layer for high-speed stability
- The center rib enhances straight-line stability, road manners, and steering response
- Stiffer shoulder, tread face, and outer ribs retain their shape to resist tread squirm and deformation while cornering

SimpleTire’s view on Advanta HTR-800 tires
There are so many pickup trucks and SUVs on the road, and most of them never see much time off the pavement. For trucks like that, an all-season tire like the Advanta HTR-800 makes perfect sense. The Advanta HTR-800 is a tire that has the ride quality, road manners, handling, and low noise you’d expect from a Grand Touring tire, along with the durability and year-round traction you need for a light truck tire. The randomized tread pitch means a driving experience that’s quiet and serene, and the HTR-800’s tread area and shoulder are designed for handling that’s precise and predictable. Road manners are also first-rate, with good steering feedback and response to driver input that’s direct and immediate without being too touchy. A 50,000 mile warranty is also notable for a light truck tire at this price point.
No, this tire doesn’t perform well in deep snow – it’s neither M+S rated for mud/snow traction nor is it Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certified for severe winter service. And no, it’s not designed for off-road use, so it’s not surprising that it wouldn’t fare well in rough all-terrain environments. What the Advanta HTR-800 is designed for is long miles on the highway with low noise, dependable grip, a compliant ride, and composed road manners, and that’s exactly what you can expect with this tire.

Can't go wrong with these! Great value, dry and wet conditions, tons of traction. Tires are also very quiet and smooth on the road, great for road trips.
