While the tread held up decently, the sidewall did not. They all gave out and were extremely soft resulting in one blowing out and almost causing an accident. Would not recommend at all.

If you’ve got a compact sedan, minivan, or crossover, you probably already know that all-season tires are going to be your best bet, for their balance of year-round traction, long wear, low noise, competent handling, and good road manners. You probably also know that there are all kinds of options for all-season tires, at every price point from the cheapest brands to top-tier premium tires. While you’re considering what the best choice in all-season tires might be, you should give a little thought to the Advanta HPZ-01.
The Advanta HPZ-01 is a tire that delivers a compliant ride, consistent handling and road manners, and dependable traction, all at levels that far exceed expectations for the price. So what is it about the tire that makes it such a standout performer and a great value? Let’s get in for a closer look with this Advanta HPZ-01 review:
Features and Benefits
Here are just a few of the bullet points that make the Advanta HPZ-01 such a great tire:
- Tread is designed for stability to resist tread squirm and lateral forces during cornering
- M&S rated for mud and snow traction and control
- Circumferential grooves, lateral and angled grooves, and sipes all work as a system to evacuate standing water from the tire’s contact patch and resist hydroplaning
- Tread pitch randomized and computer-tuned to suppress frequencies and keep road noise low
- Advanced silica-rich rubber compound for long wear and enhanced wet-weather traction
- Backed by a 40,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty
- Shoulder and outboard ribs are stiffer and reinforced for improved cornering ability
Pros and Cons
So, is this Advanta tire the right choice for your ride and budget? Before you decide, let’s take a look at the tire’s strengths and weaknesses:
PROS:
- Mud and snow-rated
- Handling is sharp, responsive, and confident
- Driver feedback is good
- Ride quality is pleasant and refined
- More affordable than many other tires in the segment
CONS:
- Some reviews report loss of traction with heavier, more powerful vehicles
- Should not be used in moderate to severe winter weather conditions
- Fuel efficiency could be better
- Warranty is shorter than many other tires in the segment
SimpleTire’s view on Advanta HPZ-01 tires
Our experience with the Advanta HPZ-01 has been pretty positive overall. This is a tire that has admirable road manners and stability at highway speed, with a quiet and refined ride and steering response that connects with driver commands immediately without ever being twitchy or jumpy. The Advanta HPZ-01 isn’t designed as a performance tire, but cornering and braking are pretty confident unless the vehicle is being pushed to the absolute limit. Traction in wet weather is equally capable, although you’ll need to be sensible in a downpour. The 40,000 mile warranty is better than you might expect for a tire at this price point, thanks in part to that silica-enhanced tread formulation that’s designed for long, even wear.
As for the Cons, we should probably point out that this tire is designed more for the performance of small sedans, minivans, and crossovers, and isn’t a good choice for something like a high-horsepower Ford Mustang or Dodge Charger. Also, the M+S rating means a tire is competent in light mud or snow, but it’s not as comprehensive as the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certification for severe winter service and deep snow. Anything more than an inch or two of snow might be a problem with the Advanta HPZ-01 because, to be really honest, that’s not what a tire like this was designed for. All in all, though, this is a tire that can punch far above its weight class when it comes to value and performance.

The front tires both developed a ply separation on the inside area of the tread which required replacement, I installed er 700 Advanta they are quiet but the two HPZ-01 left on the car are still objectionably noisy and I had to change them even though they had a lot of tread rubber left. These are the worst tires I have ever owned.
Never received never refunded
FYI my tire exploded on the freeway. Please for you life and you familys, do not buy advanta hpz01. They made noises since i got them up until when they exploded.

Excellent buy. Not just for the price, this is genuinely a really impressive tire overall and better in the dry.
