Designed specifically for snow and slush, the Maxxis MA-W2 Wintermaxx tire features a special rubber compound that stays flexible at lower temperatures, plus a directional winter tread pattern, sipes and microgrooves to boost grip, and a notched shoulder that enhances lateral traction. As a winter tire, the MA-W2 Wintermaxx utilizes a softer rubber compound that will quickly wear in warmer temperatures, meaning that the tire shouldn't be used when temperatures are consistently above 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
