General Tires

General Tire and Rubber Company was founded in 1915 by William "W.O." O'Neil and Winfred Fouse in Akron, Ohio. Since its inception, General Tire has been very focused on making tires that deliver both quality and performance, and since its early years, the tire manufacturer has catered to diversified vehicle portfolios, from passenger cars to trucks, which later also expanded to aerospace and defense sectors. The tire brand currently specializes in making the best replacement tires for passenger cars, light trucks, CUVs, SUVs, commercial vehicles, and industrial applications. General Tire's product families aim at different driving needs, like the Grabber tires are a favourite of drivers who look for on- and off-road choices, or something for highway touring. There are AltiMax tires catering to passenger vehicles and CUVs, G-MAX tires primarily made for performance, and the Arctic lines are engineered specifically for winter weather driving. In 1987, General Tire was acquired by Continental AG, and the parent brand's reflection can be seen in the cutting-edge technologies offered in the present-day General tires.
