  • Radar Tires is a flagship brand of Omni United and was launched in 2006. The brand utilizes the latest equipment, materials, and manufacturing processes to produce a range of tires that can be used year-round or in different applications. Radar tires are designed to have universal fitment and help drivers to pick a set of tires based on their requirements.

The Radar Dimax R8+ is an ultra-high-performance tire that’s designed for use on high-performance vehicles. The tire features an asymmetric tread pattern, wide circumferential grooves, and more, making it a good choice for you. Today in this Radar Dimax R8+ tire review, we will take a look at these features and benefits, its pros and cons, and SimpleTires’ views on the tire to help you make a more informed decision.

    Features and Benefits

Ultra-high-performance tires are designed for use on sports and performance-oriented cars. These tires are ideally used in warmer weather and deliver sporty handling, quick braking, and acceleration. Moreover, UHP tires can deliver reliable performance when driving at higher speeds, making them a preferred choice for sports and performance vehicles.

The Radar Dimax R8+ is designed with an asymmetric tread pattern for enhanced handling, wide circumferential grooves for improved wet grip, and a silica tread compound for longer tread wear and extra grip. Here are some features and benefits of Radar Dimax R8+.

    • Enhanced handling: The asymmetric tread pattern allows for enhanced handling at high speeds.
    • Increased wet and dry traction: The wide circumferential grooves provide added traction for wet and dry road conditions.
    • Improved grip and durability: The silica tread compound used, enables regular tread wear and extra grip.
    • Radar’s Protect Program: Backed by Radar’s Protection Program that includes a Workmanship and Material Warranty, Limited Tread Life Warranty, and Road Hazard Warranty.

The Dimax R8+ is available in a variety of tire sizes ranging from 18 to 22 inches and is also backed by a 35,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty.

    Pros and Cons

Now that we know more about the features and benefits of the tire, let’s also discuss a few of the pros and cons of the tire.

    PROS:

    • Enhanced handling with an asymmetric tread pattern and improved dry/wet grip.
    • Backed by Radar’s Protection Program and 35,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty.
    • Fights uneven tread wear while offering a comfortable riding experience.

Also, consider these cons before making your final decision.

    CONS:

    • Should not be used in below-freezing conditions.
    • The steering control at higher speeds can feel unsteady.
    • Fuel efficiency could be better.

SimpleTire’s view on Radar Dimax R8+ tires

If you are looking for a set of ultra-high-performance tires with increased wet and dry grip, better longevity, and improved handling control, Radar Dimax R8+ might be the right fit for you. Backed by Radar’s Protection Program and a 35,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty, these tires are a good affordable choice for your sports vehicle.

Have about 2500 miles on these tires. They were easier/better than expected to balance; took less that 2.0 oz per side to balance. They have a great high-quality look and ride to match. So far, they have exceeded my expectations, which as a BMW X5 owner, is hard to do. Too early to tell about the tread life and/or the winter traction. My summary measure for any product is 'value'. So far, these tires are a better value than any tire I have owned.

I bought these to replace both my rear Bridgestone run flats on my Z4 that were damaged after a puncture thinking it may be ok since I'm not racing around with them. What a mistake. Maybe because these are non run flats their sidewalls are softer. The plus side is that when you go over small bumps it's not so harsh but the handling at 80 mph or higher feels scary and floating. The steering at slightly over 60 mph feels imprecise and feels like the car is unstable and almost wanders from left to right. Even in sport mode it's not much better. I wish I could return these. It makes the car terrible to drive. I would not recommended them at all.

Simple tire is one of the best places that I know of when buying tires. I love how the tires came in. And I look forward buying more from here when I need new tires! I have sent several people here to buy new tires and they have loved it!
