Toyo Proxes R888 Tire Reviews
(Based on 8 Reviews)
Love R888s! Yes, they’re a bit noisy and are not the best to drive around in the rain but I SoCal weather and a full exhaust setup in a V8 make those cons irrelevant lol. Also, they’re the most aesthetically pleasing tire on the market.By submitting a review, each person received a sweepstakes entry.
Got these for the back of my cobra, excellent dry traction. I don't hear any road noise. I don't drive the car in the rain so not sure on wet traction, love the tire so far.By submitting a review, each person received a sweepstakes entry.
I use these tires for track days and summer spirited driving only. They are without a doubt one of the best tires you can run at the track unless you go with a pure racing tire. Grip is phenomenal and I often achieve better than 1.2 G's in turns in my 2008 Corvette Z06. The trade off is of course tread life as I can only use them for about 6 or 7 track days before they are done. I did have 1 day at the track when it rain a little and was pleasantly supersized how well they preformed on wet pavement. They are not a rain tire by any means, but the R888's worked OK and I ran the whole session without any off track excursions. All in all until someone comes up with a better street legal tire for the track these are my go to tire.
Love these tires, great traction, decent life, and drivable in the rain. I'm on my second set, will buy a 3rd if the price is right.
Track Tires. Low mileage, high stickiness. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=847806975393735&set=a.150493908458382.1073741825.100004933200065&type=3
These tires are extreme: not for your average sedan. Dry grip and handling are maximized at the expense of wet road performance and tread life. They're pretty awesome! I've fitted them to a Lotus that's just used for occasional sport driving on winding roads, so I'm not concerned with longevity or wet grip. They seem to be perfect for my needs.
Great tire for its purpose. Not good in any kind of wet conditions.
