Summary: A soft hybrid tire with about the best dry grip and traction you can get in an all season at the expense of cold wet cornering and tread life. Solid and safe traction performance for normal driving in the wet cold and even light snow, but not for hard cornering in the cold rain at all, that's where the expensive all seasons will dominate. Will need to replace in prob 20k miles for the person who drives hard (but doesn't do many burnouts), but at this crazy low price, you won't mind replacing every year and a half to get yo' sticky back! :) My star ratings are based against other UHP all season's, not comparing against summer tires at all... Using on a small but very tight handling car, Fiesta ST, that really stresses these guys, and I have equal drive time on them in 5000 miles of dry and wet to review... Agree with the others, very sticky, soft ride. Make sure to inflate a few psi more than big name expensive tires for the summer hard drives. They say up to 49psi is safe, run at 40-42 for best dry cornering, 32-35 for cold wet winter traction. They really are just as good or better compared to other UHP A/S tires at everything but cold and wet *cornering*. Much like a summer tire, the further under 45 degrees it gets, the worse they perform. Not dangerous but not good at all either. When 50 or above, they actually perform well in the wet (and dry), even hydroplane prevention is good, like a good all season should be. Even very light snow they perform well enough to get you home no problem taking it easy. These last 2 categories is where the actually very good tread design comes through, with the soft tires getting stiff at lower temps not exactly helping. Obviously that M&S rating applies on "getting you home" traction and not cold and wet cornering performance, LOL, like others have said they definitely tend to lose grip a little early if you push cornering. I disagree that they are dangerous, you just can't expect them to perform the same as when warm and you do at least have a little warning to learn their limits. But they definitely are not for rally racing in the wet or even if you demand cold wet cornering in general, I personally take it easy on my car in the cold wet anyway. Personally, I like that I can compromise a bit on that one area for an amazing price for what you get with better summer performance over other all seasons instead. All at an insane price that's cheap enough to replace in 10-25k miles and not care. You can tell by that wide of range that it really depends on how hard you drive, which is normal with sticky tires. So not rating on tread wear as not really fair or applicable for this kind of tire, but would be a 2.5/5 compared to all other cars tires in any given same size, but very decent enough for the performance it returns. Very cool that we have an option like these, kind of a summer/AS hybrid tire that's really good for such a low price for summer dry traction and grip but still definitely solid enough for cold winter rain and light snow too, as long as you don't push the corners too hard. Actually pretty close to the perfect year round tire for tropical areas where it's both warm and wet but still good for year round use in mild areas where you have a nice summer, lots of rain other months, but little snow in winter, especially if you save your hard driving for times above 50 degrees. Remember, with so many brand new efficient factories in Thailand now, they can pump out very decent tires at a low price and this is good example of it's not quite you get what you pay for any more. These are not like a Chinese tire from 15 years ago at this price, these definitely perform and feel like more like a mid range Korean or Japanese all season that's twice the price, but even softer and grippier in the summer won't mind replacing more often.
So first and foremost.. These are extremely soft and sticky. The compound is very soft. Meaning they do run lower on tread quicker if you are constantly hittin' it. These grip AMAZING in the dry road, and in the summer. I had these for the winter and they would NOT let me slide out on dry road. I tried swinging it and do donuts but it just kept gripping and gripping and was not wanting me to let loose... They are probably the stickiest street tires I've had. In the rain, or wet roads, they don't grip like your regular all seasons. They grip more than the Nitto NT555 but they're not the typical all season tires. Keep in mind.. I highly recommend these for the summer if you want some good sticky traction... They seem to grip fairly well during cold seasons but if it's wet, they're not comparable to the better all seasons that have stiffer compounds. I burned through these tires in about a week because I did about 100 burnouts/donuts in them the first week and then did some drag street racing.. They're EXTREMELY sticky if you do some nice burnouts. I would say depending on what you need tires for, these could be for you or not... I do not recommend if you need good daily rain tires.. I do not recommend if you want tires to last months on out... They're softer so they wear down quicker... I don't recommend if you're trying to find a cheap tire to do a bunch of donuts in bc these are super sticky and hard to let loose unless on wet ground.. I DO recommend if you need some super grippy soft compound tires comparable to street "like drags." I do recommend these for the summer. I like these for dailys so I can grip when I take off.. But it's been raining daily where I live so I've switched to the Achilles for this season. When I did have these on, I lowered my PSI to 26-28 and they do well because they're very soft. Really good handling and smooth ride UNTILL they go bald. lol... They grip EXTREMELY well at high speeds around turns. But are also good for just straight power forward. I have a 392 challenger.
These tires are trash. I have better grip in the in the cold rain using my summer tires. I have a 392 challenger I have had these tires on for about a week or so. It's winter time where I am and these tires have almost made me crash 3 times now. just in the rain. I am looking for a replacement set as I type this review. Very Unhappy with this buy! Never again!!
