Started in Taiwan, Maxxis made its name as a bicycle tire manufacturer first before expanding into tires for light trucks, ATVs, auto, trailers, motorcycles, and more. The company's first distribution facility in the US came up in 1985. Since then, it has been known for constantly making good-looking and strong tires, one of which is Maxxis MT-765 Buckshot II. As an aggressive mud-terrain tire, it has been designed to handle tricky conditions made up of mud and rocks. You’re likely to see these tires on light trucks, Jeeps, and light trucks, especially vehicles plying through forest trails. It is a workhorse tire capable of being equally effective off-the-road. Use our Maxxis MT-765 Buckshot II review to find out if it meets your daily requirements or not.

    Features and Benefits

Some users may find Maxxis MT-765 Buckshot II tires to provide a better riding experience off-road than in the cities. The aggressive tread design here constantly strives to enhance traction in rocky and muddy terrains. Now, it is natural for such a tire to undergo tremendous stress in off-road areas, and so special shoulder blocks and the cut-resistant treads have been provided to ensure high durability. The above design elements also protect against accidental damages while driving off-road, as does the extra-strength casing.

Traction on this tire is not just good but consistent, leading to a high Maxxis MT-765 Buckshot II rating. This has been made possible by mud and stone ejectors within the tread that minimize rock retention and enhance self-cleaning. Apart from mud, you can also use these tires for superior grip in snow and ice by incorporating studs in the tread blocks (just be sure to consult local laws before pinning your tires with studs). Premium rubber tread compound and the siping ensure strong control in various weather conditions.

    Pros and Cons

It’s not difficult to understand how well the tire grips the road by simply looking at it. Staggered shoulder lugs are present for improving traction on difficult terrains. Our Maxxis MT-765 Buckshot II tire review can be explained better through the following pros and cons:

    Pros

    • Handles muddy and rocky terrains with ease
    • Aggressive tread pattern looks good
    • Low rolling resistance
    • High directional stability
    • Can be used with studs for snowy and icy surfaces
    • High durability due to twin steel belts

    Cons

    • No mileage warranty
    • Not very comfortable on highways

Put my 33's on my 1994 Jeep Wrangler - 4" lift kit and fuel rims - great ride in the city but better on the beaches in NC; nothing but BITE; never let the air out of the tires in the sand; surprisingly quite for as big as they are on the pavement - def recommend - 10 or if 10??'?

I live in Fl so no winter rating. Also haven't had my tires very long only a couple weeks so no tread wear. I ordered the 305/70/17 for my 2006 F150. Only a 2.5" level and no rubbing except a slight rub on my coil spring at weird angles. 1/4" wheel spacers fixed it nbd. NO TRIMMING. They ride great on the road. Even at higher speeds(55+) and they're not choppy at stops like some other MTs. The ride noise now is great. They hum but you can talk over them and it's not super loud. Off road was better than I expected. I figured they would be shovels in sugar sand but i rode most places in 2WD. Needed 4x4 for hills but that's to be expected. In the mud they clean very well and keep traction. Overall these are an excellent tire for a daily driver you might find yourself off road in on occasion. (Hunting/Trails/Etc) 10/10 WOULD recommend

None of this applies to your vehicle. I put these on a Polaris RZR. Top speed performance came back after replacing heavy SxS tires. Traction is excellent along with smoothness and noise is down. Hopefully they last for the rest of the life of the SxS.

These tires are great, good looking and have amazing tread . I would recommend to those who love off-roading , and want to give their truck that extra beast look. I drive from my unit a lot down SC and back to MaryLand and the tires are great on the road and when we go off-roading on weekends . 10/10 would buy again and go for these. Noise is loud at first (like any tire ) but is good after. Maxxis did a great job with these . Thank you.

I put a set of 31x10.5x15 on my Can-Am Defender XMR Max HD10, and they are working great!!! I drive a lot of pavement and gravel roads and these things do the trick and are more comfortable than the extreme mud tires that come on it stock.
