Was not impressed with snow traction, but I have had Nokian AT Plus tires. Snow traction diminished about 1/2 tread. The tire did great on dry pavement right up to the 63k miles where I am taking them off. They have 4/32 tread left. They are now dangerous on wet pavement. They was great on wet roads when newer. Mud traction was on par with most all terrain tires, anyone that says all terrain tires are good in mud has never had mud tires. Hard pack, rock, gravel, tires performed fine. Fuel mileage suffered very little over the stock Goodyear's highway tires that came on the ram 1500 4x4 eco diesel. I drive between 1000 to 1600 PER WEEK. 600 To job site and back home on interstate. I do power line work in the Appalachian mountain range. These tires have been used off road with no failures. Cooper has a winner here.

Bought these tires for a trip to Denver over the Christmas holiday. Temperatures never got above 20 degrees f. Tires road and handled great with a fully loaded vehicle. Traction in ice and snow was never an issue. Would buy these tires again.

I live in the Vail Valley at 7,000 feet elevation. These are great all season tires for living here. I have run Cooper tires for over 13 years. I used to run the old ATR 10ply and got 50k miles out two sets of them on an old Titan. I have noticed that many of the full-size emergency vehicles up here in the mountains run the 10 ply ATR and newer AT3s. They get such good wear and traction in all conditions that they make a great choice for all our weather here without having to switch over to different tires for different seasons. I switched to the P-Rated tires for a few of my newer Chevrolet 1500 series because I have a lift and wheels set up where 10 plys are not available and I wanted to keep the ride as smooth as possible. I got less miles from the older AT3 P-rated tires by far. I am hopeful that I will get better tread life from the new compound in the AT3-4S P-rated series. They seem quieter, smoother and have a firm feeling sidewall for towing my 7K lb trailer. The winter tread is as good or better then the older sets I have had and I rarely switch into 4WD even when the roads are covered in snow. Snow and wet braking and acceleration are very good. If the tires do break free (from me over driving the conditions) they are very predictable and regain traction quickly. I cannot comment on wear as I have only put a few thousand miles on them so far.

The only comment I want to make here is it makes a difference which load range A/T3 you buy for handling and road feel characteristics. P-rated tires will give you the smoothest ride without harshness whereas 4S tires are a little stiffer. LT tires are rated load range E (10 ply) and are really harsh on a vehicle lighter that a large truck. Most tire shops will sell you P-rated (load range B) tires for a normal size SUV and tend to have lots of sidewall flex on the heavier ones.

These are the best winter traction tires I've found in over 5 brands I've tested and being all terrain, I can leave them on all year without having them wear out on dry pavement, PLUS they are excellent for the dirt roads I often travel. I put them to the extreme test delivering newspapers before the plows come out. As far as road noise, you have to really listen carefully in order to hear anything different than ordinary street tires. I have them on a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee as well as a 2000 Cherokee Sport and am on my 4th set on the Grand.

Bought these to replace a set of worn Cooper ATW on our 5th gen 4Runner. Only about 5k miles on them so far. But extremely quiet, have been great in torrential rain and general daily highway driving.
